Burnmoor Lodge
This old hunting lodge lies on the southern shore of Burnmoor Tarn above Eskdale. The lighting and cloudscape help create a moody and dramatic picture.
The lodge was built in the 19th Century for the then Lord of the Manor, Lord Leconfield who had the game rights to the surrounding fells. There is an interesting text on the wall in shadow which reads:-
The sun that knows no setting, that ever giveth light.
